Understanding the importance of ‘Social Proof’

Every website that is trying to sell a product or service should contain an area that provides ‘Social Proof’

Social Proof for a website designer is examples of other websites, for a tradesman it may be customer reviews and for a hotel or holiday accommodation it will be Guest Reviews.

Providing Social Proof on your website will respond to all the doubts, and concerns, rational or otherwise that may be circling round in your customers’ heads. If you have no reviews – are you a legitimate business? If you have short, concise reviews are your previous guests dispassionate about their stay?

Many of your prospective guests aren’t going to ask you if the local pub is nice, close or affordable as they wouldn’t expect you to tell them if it isn’t!
