SEO - a real world example - Owners Websites

Introduction

‘How long will it take before people start to find (and click on) my new website on Google searches’ is a popular question. A new website will not shoot to the top of the rankings but SEO should improve over time as the website becomes more trusted, visited and more of its pages become indexed into Google’s search engine eco-system.

Only Google truly knows how long this process will take (and the process frequently changes as their algorithms are improved) but we can give you a realistic idea based upon real world examples of our work.

Before we start, we should make clear that no websites are equal and different sites will have different appeal, different keywords, often be in different locations. However what we can say is the example below:

Has been developed using our standard structure used for all our websites designed to be suitable for performing well on SEO
Has not received extended SEO optimisation (by which we mean link building, competitor analysis)
Is not a website that has been frequently updated by the client or received additional marketing.
Does not have Google Analytics installed or is using any Analytics tools that monitor/improve traffic acquisition

So with that in mind let’s take a look.

Website Launched – February 2025

On 9 February 2025 we made the website live and submitted its sitemap to Google so that Google could start indexing it. (We do this for ALL our clients’ websites)

April 2025

Six weeks later, we received our first progress report from Google. Not big numbers yet, but reassuring to see traffic which suggests our new website is safely on board Good Ship Google!

May 2025

Looks like things are on the up. Numbers of visitors finding the website on Google searches – and clicking on it – have doubled since the previous month.

July 2025

This is more like it! We are now in holiday season admittedly and more people should be searching for properties but this is great confirmation that the website is out there in Google’s shop window at this important time.
