Firstly if someone is offering to build a website for you we recommend you check out their previous work. If it all looks the same design then this person is very likely to be using a template system to drop your text and photos into place.

There are many reasons why you shouldn’t want a template provider to build a website for you. In many cases the template design would have been built 5-10 years ago, maybe longer and not fulfil current best practices for SEO, page loading speeds, Browser compatibility Or maybe you simply don’t want your website to look tired, restrictive to how you would really like to to perform or not look just like everybody else’s. Really though, the fact is template designs tend to offer bare minimum functionality and aren’t as effective at bringing in the bookings.
